What Is It About :
The wife Kahani plans a special surprise
for her husband Nirbhay as they plan to celebrate their First Wedding
Anniversary in Goa, the place where they had met for the first time and had
fallen in love. However, destiny has other plans which unfolds in this romantic
tale…
Review : It was a pleasant surprise that a Love Guru Nagarjun (Nana
Patekar) comes out of a book, as he is
the author, to help a married woman Kahani (Mahie Gill) rediscover herself as
she indulges in the story and thus find solutions to her concerns in her
married life.
Kahani is excited to celebrate her First
Wedding Anniversary with her husband Nirbhay (Priyanshu Chatterjee in a special
appearance) in Goa and she waits for him. However, Nirbhay due to an important
business meeting is not able to arrive
on time and Kahani is very upset about that. What follows is that she falls
asleep while reading a book and when the doorbell rings she is surprised to
find a stranger who turns out to be the author of the book she was reading,
Nagarjun.
The dream sequence is a journey of love and passion through the medium of
various discussions where Nagarjun as the love guru attempts to show Kahani the
reflection of her life. This even involves a journey traversing the lives of
various couples through their eyes and thus Nagarjun makes her realize that it’s
imperative to understand her husband first and vice versa.
What’s Hot : Nana Patekar as Nagarjun plays his role with eloquence and is a
marvel to watch as he mouths his poetry in Hindi and Urdu with unparalled adroitness
and fluidity. Mahie looks gorgeous as the wife as she plays her part well. The
characters also leave a lasting impression in our minds. The Director Shekhar S
Jha has done a commendable job .The Music Director Abhishek Ray has packaged
the diverse songs beautifully like a bouquet.
What’s Not : There are many people who might get bored with the monologues
of Nana Patekar but it is rare to see such a masterpiece on celluloid as it has
an artistic flavour. Most of the people or critics might argue that she must
visit a marriage counsellor and not try to find solutions through a Love Guru
who is the author of a book she reads.
Final Verdict : Overall, Wedding Anniversary movie is worth a watch if you have
fallen in love at any time of your life. It even serves as a soothing relief as
it explores a unique cinematic
experience never witnessed before in Bollywood !
